DANCE FLICK (PG-13 for huge amounts of profanity, sexual content & crudity)

When the theatre manager discourages seeing DANCE FLIC, you know it has to be bad. The so-called comic parody (do they make anything else?) by the Wayan Clan - in this case, apparently a take-off on race & talent competitions among teens at a NYC high school - is far too subtle to be appreciated by a general audience not in the "know" on one hand, and far too obvious to be clever on the other. White girl, loaded with undeveloped dance talent, falls for Black boy, loaded with heart and extremely exotic break-dancing, go through the "boy meets girl" routine as they plod through 85-minutes of the usual Wayan mix of hit/miss material: scatological vulgarities, vomiting, urinating, body crudity, and plenty of sight gags including hanging a baby in a school locker, the mother calling to it through the vent, "Now, be good; mama back soon." Yo, Babe!
